Sound familiar?

  • You're capable — but deadlines, focus, and follow-through are a daily battle
  • You start many things and finish few
  • You've been called "scattered", "dreamy", or "too much" since childhood
  • Work or school takes twice the effort it seems to take everyone else
  • Anxiety or low mood keeps circling back, and nothing quite explains it

These experiences can have many causes — ADHD is one. A proper assessment distinguishes it from anxiety, mood, sleep, and other conditions that can look similar.

Why a comprehensive assessment

A short questionnaire can't tell you what a full evaluation can.

ADHD in adults is often missed — or misdiagnosed — because its symptoms overlap with anxiety, depression, burnout, and sleep difficulties. As a clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist, Dr. Gale evaluates the whole picture, so the diagnosis you receive actually explains your experience.

The result is a document that works for you: supporting workplace and academic accommodations, informing medication discussions with your physician, and guiding therapy or coaching if you choose it.

  • In-depth clinical interview covering your history, strengths, and current challenges
  • Standardized ADHD rating scales and, where indicated, cognitive testing
  • Careful screening for conditions that mimic or accompany ADHD
  • A comprehensive written report with diagnosis and tailored recommendations
  • A feedback session to walk through the findings — in plain language

Who this is for

Assessment for every stage of the question.

Professionals & executives

High-performing, chronically overextended, and wondering why focus costs so much. Discreet scheduling, including evenings and weekends.

Students & adolescents

Documentation to support academic accommodations at university, college, or high school — and strategies that outlast the paperwork.

Adults seeking answers

Perhaps a child's recent diagnosis, or a lifetime of "almosts", raised the question. It's never too late to understand your own mind.

Common questions

Before you book.

Is the assessment covered by insurance?

Most extended health plans that include psychological services reimburse assessment fees to the extent specified in your individual plan. You'll receive a detailed receipt for submission. For eligible Indigenous clients, NIHB can be billed directly.

Can the assessment be done online?

Yes. Much of the assessment can be completed by secure video anywhere in Ontario. Depending on your needs, some testing components may be recommended in person at the downtown Toronto office.

Will the report support workplace or school accommodations?

Yes. The report is written to meet the documentation requirements of universities, colleges, and employers, with specific, individualized recommendations.

Can Dr. Gale prescribe medication?

Psychologists don't prescribe medication in Ontario, but the diagnostic report gives your family physician or a psychiatrist the clinical foundation they need for an informed medication discussion.

What if it turns out not to be ADHD?

Then you'll know — and you'll know what it is instead. The assessment screens for conditions that commonly mimic ADHD, so the findings point you toward the right support either way.
